Custom Corporate Gifting: Giving a Better Gift

Custom Corporate Gifting: Giving a Better Gift

If you've ever worked for a large (or medium) sized company, you probably have received some sort of corporate gift. And it probably sucked. I mean, maybe it wasn't SO bad. You probably really wanted that sweatshirt with the company logo brazenly embroidered across the front. Who doesn't want to be constant advertising for their company? It's almost worse when you're a client and you get these. Back in my teaching days I actually got a gift from a textbook company that was trying to woo us. Nothing says tone deaf quite like a promotional t-shirt from a company you don't WANT to use, but have to because there are no other options.

I remember the first time I got a client gift, from a company, that didn't totally suck. It should come as no surprise that the company was small and women owned. The gift she selected was from another small, women owned company and so beautifully personalized.

No one, and I mean no one, needs another t-shirt with your company logo on it (when they didn't order that). And if you're going to gift a backpack, don't send it to a group of people that work from home and have no real use for a company bag when they don't go anywhere for the company.

It's why I do corporate customs. Last year I did custom gifts for an esthetician who wanted to give something to clients after a year of membership with her, a women's collective that wanted to honor every member of the group, a micro-mobility company that wanted to thank a group after a particularly challenging few months, and so on. I even did a gift for someone who wanted to thank her entire team upon her retirement.

Curious about your own group of customs? Let's chat! Because handmade wins as a gift, every day.
